1-CLAIMS TO BE A REAL CUSTOM SHOP, DON'T THINK SO. THEY CAN'T BUY FROM MOST DISTRIBUTORS BECAUSE THEY AREN'T A REAL SHOP, THEY'RE WINDOW HANGERS.

2- CLAIMED TO BE A LICENSED BUILDER BUT PIGGYBACKED ON CALIFORNIA CUSTOMS' LICENSE FOR PART OF 2004 AND ALL 2005.

3- USED CALIFORNIA CUSTOMS VINS AND APPRAISAL BOOK LISTINGS TO LOOK LEGIT TO CUSTOMERS.

4- THEY HAVE NOBODY THAT'S KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT BUILDING BIKES OR DESIGNING KITS.

5- CLAIM TO BUILD THEIR OWN FRAMES WHEN THEY'RE ACTUALLY BUILT BACK EAST SOMEWHERE.

6- CLAIMS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE "PHANTOM" BRAKE LINE DESIGN ON THE AMERICAN SUSPENSION FORKS WHEN IT'S OBVIOUSLY NOT TRUE.

7- ALSO CLAIMS TO HAVE DESIGNED THE EFM AUTO CLUTCH FOR USE ON THE BDL PRIMARY DRIVES, ANOTHER LIE.

8- CLAIMS TO BE EPA CERTIFIED WHEN THEY'RE ACTUALLY PIGGYBACKING ON ANOTHER SHOP'S CERTIFICATION.

9- ALL OF THEIR PARTS ARE DROP SHIPPED FROM THE DISTRIBUTORS, FURTHER EVIDENCE THEY ARE A CYBER ONLY SHOP WHICH IS THE SCOURGE OF OUR INDUSTRY IN OUR OPINION.

10- THEIR NEW LINE OF COMPLETE BIKES IS BEING BUILT BY ANOTHER SHOP, NOT EVEN BUILT BY A PHANTOM SHOP.

11- THEY CLAIM TO HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS SINCE 1999, WE CAN'T FIND ANY EVIDENCE THIS SHOP EXISTED ANYTIME PRIOR TO 2001.

12- ACCORDING TO THE MIC 2006 MANUFACTURER'S LIST PHANTOM CHOPPERS IS NOT A LICENSED MANUFACTURER.

THESE 11 FACTS ARE REASONS WHY WE WILL NO LONGER BE ASSOCIATED WITH PHANTOM CHOPPERS AS OF JANUARY 1, 2006. WE FEEL WE HAVE BEEN LIED TO EITHER BY OMISSION OR JUST PLAIN BALD FACED LIES. WE HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD BAD DEALINGS WITH THIS SHOP OR HAVE INFORMED US OF THINGS LIKE MEETING CUSTOMERS IN SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOTS TO DELIVER PARTS. HE CLAIMS TO BE A BRICK AND MORTAR SHOP BUT WE FIND NO EVIDENCE THIS IS TRUE. WE WILL NOT BE ASSOCIATED WITH CYBER ONLY SHOPS. THE NAME PHANTOM SEEMS APPROPRIATE FOR THIS SHOP SINCE NOBODY HAS ACTUALLY SEEN IT.

Hi Joe,

I can't begin to explain how relieved I was to read your "Phantom Phun Phacts" page on Phantom Choppers! I have SOOOOOO many stories of his lies and complete BS, it could probably fill up a 1,000 page book - I've dealt with him in 2004 and 2005 (when I didn't know any better - I was just another person that was duped by him), and even bought about 75% of the parts from him for the bike that I'm building. He was working closely with Mike Matthews from "Kickstand Products" or "KAMI Corporation" or whatever they were calling themselves, and I even went to the 2004 "Bike Building Boot Camp" in Las Vegas. I couldn't believe how easily one LIE after another came out of his mouth......It's literally to the point where he could be diagnosed by a psychiatrist as "dillusional".

I'm pretty sure he even convinced himself that he owns a "shop". He claimed that he developed the "Phantom brake line" for American Suspension, and even had the balls to find random R&D pictures from the internet and display them as his at the boot camp! He also claimed that Prowler transmissions build their hydraulic actuators "to his specs".

There was one time when he said he has a guy named "Animal" who works in his shop, and after he (Jay A.K.A. "Phantom") told one of their frame manufacturers that if they sent them another bent frame, they are going to throw it through their (the manufacturer's) window - He then told me they did receive another bent frame, and they flew to California and threw the frame through their front window, and when I said it was a good thing he didn't get arrested, he laughed and said that he did.

His wife, or girlfriend (he interchanged them during the boot camp) actually owns the company "Phantom Choppers", because from what I heard, he used to own a flower shop, and it went bankrupt, so he wasn't able to get credit from any bank, so the business is in her name. That's why he can only accept PayPal, since no merchants will let him accept credit cards.

A few months ago, I called his "shop" to see if he was still in business, and a woman answered. I asked if Jay was available, and she said "he's with a customer right now, do you want me to take a message?" I was like no, that's ok, I'll call back later - WHAT CUSTOMERS????? IT'S NOT A REAL SHOP!!!!!!

I'm not sure if you know or not, but the closest you'll get to seeing the actual "shop" is his wife's other business "Winter Windows" - The website is http://www.winterwindowsak.com - Check the store location on the website, then look at the "shop" location on the Phantom Choppers website.....IT'S THE SAME EXACT ONE!!!!!!

Do a whois lookup on winterwindowsak.com and phantomchoppers.com - See any similarities?

Feel free to publish ANY and ALL of what I just told you, because this fraud needs to be outed 10 times over. I only ask that you don't use my name or e-mail address if you post the information, because I don't want any issues in the future.

Write me back when you get a chance and we could compare notes. I'm curious to know how much of the same stuff you heard about "Phantom Choppers" that I mentioned.
